Casio Men’s G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock Watch Review

Casio Men's G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock Watch Review

There seems to be two distinct camps when it comes to sports watch design: the clean guys and the dirty guys. You’ve probably heard all about the clean guys. These are the guys who make scaling mountain tops and mountain fortresses look easy. These are the dudes who stare down massive walls of water and surf right into the mouth of danger only to come out looking like a million bucks. These are the guys who run a marathon by the early afternoon and still have the time to sit through a boardroom meeting. In short, the saying ‘Don’t let them see you sweat’ definitely describes these guys. While this is all well and good, there are many sports and outdoor fans who don’t mind getting dirty. The dirty guys love the thrill of getting down in the dirt and experiencing a dirt bike race one gritty and grimy inch at a time. These guys love the hard crunch the earth makes as they scale up mountain faces and claw their way to the top. These dudes don’t mind the sand that often gets into your face, eyes, and hair as you get tossed by the waves after you surf most of it. In short, these are the guys that love getting into contact with what makes the outdoors such an earthy experience. They look life in the eyes and keep taking everything thrown their way-and they often ask for seconds. This is precisely the camp of sportsgear fans and sports watch wearers, Casio’s G-Shock series appeals to. They appreciate lots of technology and lots of navigation or decision aides, but they need it in a form that lets them enjoy nature up close and personal-with all its shocks, dirt, water pressure, and, yes, danger.

Overview & Opinion

As its name indicates, the Casio Men’s G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock is all about getting up close and personal with nature. Usually, this means getting down and dirty in the mud. Designed to take lots of abuse and still look awesome and sleek, the Mudman is all about taking life by the back of the neck and riding it. Not only does the Mudman come with the long list of features you’d expect from a solid Casio sports watch product-stopwatch, sensors, countdown timer, compass, and other features, it also powers all these features through solar power. In short, you get a timepiece you can use if you got dropped in the middle of nowhere and ordered to come back alive and in one piece. This isn’t entirely a surprise. After all, this is the province of Casio’s G-Shock line: packing lots of miniaturized gadget features into a small, shock-resistant form powered by the sun. If you are looking for a timepiece that acts and looks like it means business, it would be very hard to stray from the Casio Men’s G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock-especially if you factor in its budget-friendly pricing.

G9300-1 Style: Sport swatch

Casio definitely focused on the ‘active’ side of the phrase ‘active timewear’ with this sports watch. You can use it under a wide range of circumstances and, yes, dirt levels and it will still be able to tell the time, count down, give you directions, and a whole host of other outdoor-crucial features. Don’t get stuck in the mud without this watch!

Mudman Movement Type: Japanese quartz

Considering its many high-performance features, it is a very welcome surprise indeed to learn that this timepiece comes in at a very recession era-friendly price. How come? It shaved quite a bit of pricing and preserved timekeeping performance thanks to its Japanese quartz movement.

Special Features: Compass, cool down, countdown, solar-powered, and many others

Casio has made quite a name of itself as one brand that is able to pack as many features into a compact watch form. In the case of the Casio Men’s G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock, it is able includes all sorts of high-precision features in a low cost watch that you can use in the mud, grit, and water.

One of the worst feelings you can get is to find yourself knee deep in mud, grime, or water and wonder if your watch still works. Whether it involves telling you directions, telling you the time, or doing countdowns, among many other things, the Casio Men’s G9300-1 Mudman G-Shock won’t give you this feeling. It won’t leave you high and dry.
