Some of the classiest watches ever made, have been leather band models. Not only do they look great, but they also happen to be some of the most comfortable. Having a soft high quality leather wrapped around your wrist does happen to be a lot more pleasant to wear then any kind of metal, and even more comfortable than some of the softest fabrics.
You are in luck, because leather band watches for men happen to be fairly common, and also happen to be a lot cheaper than their all metal models in luxury brands like Rolex, Omega, and many others. The cheaper price is mainly due to the use of leather that is obviously less expensive than precious metals.
If you found your dream luxury timepiece but it’s way out of your budget, have a look at it’s leather band variation and you may be surprised how affordable it is, and if you ever wanted to change the band down the road it’s always a possibility with a little added investment. If you wanted to take your budget even lower you can find some great synthetic leather band pieces as well.
Chances are you have found this post on my blog because you are in search of some of the best leather band timepieces on the market for men (my top picks for women coming soon). I have really kept this list on the lower budget side, some of the best value picks and bargain models can be found here.
Table of Contents
Citizen Men’s BM8475-26E
Let’s start with a synthetic leather band piece. This ones a very simple Citizen eco-drive model, but it’s built to last. This is a brand that has been around since the 1930’s, saying that they have experience with timepieces is a huge understatement, these guys live and breath the science of wrist horology.
If you want something that will last and can be kept in a collection, as well as being band upgradable with new technological advances made by this company, then this could be a great choice for you. This model is rechargeable by any kind of light, whether sun or indoor light no need to worry about keeping this one ticking.
Fossil FS4735 Grant
Alright so here is a model that you actually want to see! Fossil is kind of new to the world of watches, but their making some very fashionable pieces that really stand out from the crowd. This specific model has one heck of a nice leather band on it, to put it lightly it is not flimsy nor is it thin. If a thick high quality leather band is a priority for you then I highly recommend this model.
Besides the impressive calfskin band, the actual watch itself is also really neat. The FS4735 Grant has a realistic vintage look that would go great with your favourite city apparel. The case is stainless steel, it runs on quartz movement and is chronograph equipped, it’s also water resistant to 50 meters. This is a great do it all watch that leaves you with practically no functional worries. I did a full review on this exact model, you can click here to view it!
Seiko SSC081 Adventure-Solar
This watch is a pretty high tech piece of equipment which is of course rocking a great tanned calfskin band. Besides the authentic band, their is plenty to talk about in terms of the watch itself, which is equipped with a compass and some very detailed indicators.
The personal reviews found on various websites such as Amazon are also quite compelling, pretty much guaranteeing this as an awesome watch with virtually no cosmetic or functional flaws. One thing to take note of is that this watch is actually finished with a stainless steel high polish, and is not mate finished at all, some of the photos can be deceiving.
This watch has two buttons and two crowns, all which work very well. Practically the entire face is illuminated in the dark, all the hands and the indicators are very bright and easy to spot in low or no light conditions. Keep in mind that this watch is also one of the best picks if your looking for an integrated compass.
Timex T2N700 SL Series
We all know Timex! They are still coming out with some intruiging models, and have adapted very well to the fast changing wrist styles in this modern age. This particular model has a great color combination going on that is suitable for a wide variety of occasions. The strap is a really nice authentic and oiled calfskin leather that repels water very well.
The case on this watch is gorgeous, with a professional gunmetal ionic plating finish. It’s also illuminated by the famous Indiglo night-light, which has been in use by Timex for what feels like ages. The watch itself feels fantastic on the wrist, with an excellent weight that is not too light or too heavy.
Bulova 96A135 BVA-SERIES 120
The final watch on my list is a Bulova. The company is ancient, originally founded in 1875 by a Czech man who had immigrated to the U.S.A. As you can imagine most of the Bulova watches have a beautiful european flare to them, and this model is no exception. It’s finely crafted with only the best materials. The mechanism is highly advanced and was adopted by NASA. The special functional science behind the movement of this watch is so good that it’s also been used to keep time on the moon, on Air Force One, and during the Olympic games!
Some special features to note would be the luminous hands and markers, 24 hour sub-dial small sweep, a clear window on the back of the case to show off the advanced movement, roman numeral indicators, a stainless steel case, and of course a genuine calfskin leather band.
To top it off, this watch is also on a huge discount at the moment, I have no idea when this might change so make sure to have a look as soon as possible!
